    Howdy,

Just today I discovered this fruiting body in my zz plant pot, and was wondering if anyone knows what it is? There appear to be many more just developing in the area where the first came up. The mushroom is pretty bright yellow, with toothed underside. I know this isn't a mycology site, but I thought someone might know, considering it may be a common fungi to grow with house plants. I just recently aquired a banana trees (Ensete ventricosum 'Maurelii' most likely), which is right next to the zz plant. Perhaps it is the culprit spore source :)

    Thanks!

Those darn spores! Yep, could have come in from another plant.....

Try keeping your zz more on the dry side between waterings, it hates wet feet! Mushrooms won't hurt the plant, but be careful, wet soil that mushrooms love, will turn your zz yellow.

Thanks for the ID, kimberlyhope...too bad they're not edible, though :(. Oh well, at least they're pretty, and add a splash of color to my pot!

    cheers!
