Does any one have information about the relation between whorls and age for this spp. i.e. one year = one whorl? Is there a germinant factor for I.D. of age on older plants? Is it determinant or non-determinant growth?

There is no fixed relationship; some trees average close to a whorl a year, others a whorl every two years, or two whorls in three years, or varying from year to year; there is no relationship between a whorl starting and time of year.

Thank you very much. I was fairly certain that was the case; I required third party verification to win a little bet. Now I get the beer!
