This is my Beautyberry Calicarpa shrub, now producing berries that will turn a beautiful metalic purple color, and last well into the winter...

Gee, did you spend all day taking pictures?!

If I move my passion flower vine into the ground next year, should I cut it down as it gets cold to get it off the trellis it is beggining to grow around now, or should I be able to remove it with success next spring if I keep it in the house? I could always prevent it from growing around anything till next spring...

Yeah, I'd cut it back in Spring, but I am no expert on this vine.

No, more like all day loading them onto the forum! Actual picture taking only took less than 5 minutes.

Nice pics HBL! As to the Passion flower, its only just flowering, this is its second year, i cut back all the dead growth in March and I thought I'd lost it but as it was growing entwined in a small Clematis vine I thought I'd leave it and wait and see. It has grown to the top of the garage and the flowers are coming out one by one. Its really late, but it has been a very warm week with temps of 27 in the shade. So we'll see how it deos. i want to know if it will fruit or not like my neighbours deos. I can't wait.

    Thank you Nath.

Now see, this information makes me feel better about my passion flower vine that hasn't bloomed yet. I was told they don't produce flowers or fruits until they are into their 2nd year, when grown from seed. I intend on overwintering my vine and then planting it out in Spring.

I am also now growing Taxo banana passiflora vine too - seeds sent from Ecuador!

Here's my young Taxo seedlings now in the 1st pic. 2nd pic shows my Bay Laurel tree in the middle of the pot, with my Fire Cracker hot pepper seedlings around it - going to buy another Bay tree today...

    Thanks, Penny.

I just received my new Musa Basjoo banana pup, to replace my stolen ones. He also included a Dwarf Cavendish banana pup as well, so I am very pleased.

Also, I got a card in the mail today that there's a package at the post office waiting for me. It could be Zac's mystery banana plant! Oh how exciting to be getting all these Musa plants!!!

    I'll let ya know, Zac...

Here's a shot of my new Bay Laurel tree I just got yesterday - I was lucky to get it because a lady almost took them all on me.

I wanted a 2nd tree so badly, and now I have one. I bought another chili plant too, so I could pot them up together like my other pot of Bay and hot peppers...

    Thanks Et2007!

I am so fortunate to have two beautiful Bay trees - how cool. I am working on rooting some cuttings right now, for some people who would like a tree as well. Maybe in the Spring I can help you out with a cutting as well.

I am wondering how you treated your trees over the Winter? Do they like full sun, and very little watering - this is what I heard? Can they handle being in a very cool but sunny room? I might experiment with the two trees and see what kind of environment they enjoy best in winter time.

Here's some new hot peppers I got yesterday - called "Masquerade"...

HBL, my home is around 73F in the winter and my B. Laurel at Northeast window, not by my choice but that is "their home" for 24 years :-) i put in a 12" pots two years ago, can't fit up on the windowsill anymore. Winter time i don't water it much, i let them really dry before i water it. Watch out for scales bugs, i worked very hard for these Bay plants.

Just transplanted one of my 'String of Pearls' succulent plants into a bigger hanging basket this morning. Now it's going to grow like crazy for me!

    : )

P.S. I've shared many cuttings with many different people from this plant as well.

It is apparently loved by children as well. The 'Pearls' look like little peas on a string.

Yes, it lives all year round indoors but can live outside as well. It likes sheltered sunlight and not strong direct hot rays. The cuttings root so easily, so I am constantly adding 'strings' to other pots to root into little plants!

I have two plants, the one above has round 'beads' but my other one has oval shaped ones.
