Identification: 2 plants to identify

    I'm looking for help identifying a couple of young, cheap plants I recently picked up. I'm posting two pictures of each plant, hoping that the low quality of the pictures is clear enough to help.

    YES! Thank you togata! I figured the second one was some type of palm, but a lot of them look so similar to me that I had trouble deciding.

    Now I can find some appropriate spots for them. Thanks much!
