That's the oxford botanic garden it's really small (wee bit bigger than my garden tho) but with a lot squeezed in.

the seeds of the blueberry should be free from the problem effecting the parent plant if it's a desiese that is (most cant cross from the parent to the developing seed). if the symptoms are of a cultural problem like nutrient deficiancy it could have effected the way in which the seed developed.

yeh they're quite close relatives both part of the family Droseraceae and carnivorus, but there are hundreds of species of sundew and only the one of venus flytrap. There are a couple of wild species in the uk some are really good plants in greenhouses and on windowsills as pest controls.

you take care too katlina, I'm hoping i get internet up soon so i'll hopefully be able to catch up with everyone soon.

    Nice shots Greerish!

Oh how I love Sundews and Venus flytraps! If I could get my hands on either one, I'd be a happy camper. Don't want to order them from the US, nor Canada for that matter. I'd have to know they were quality plants before I might order them from someone in Canada.

Once in awhile you can buy Venus FlyTrap plants at the greenhouse but I wonder if I cold get seeds for a beautiful sundew plant. Hmmmmm. I would be in my glory!

Sorry about your internet, Greerish. Good luck with everything.

Greerish thats interesting as I was reading the other day how subtle are Venus fly traps. Apparently the fly is 25 times faster than the human being, it flies and its reactions are 25 tmes faster then we can imagine which is why its so hard to kill the fly by swatting him with the news paper however the Venus fly trap lets off a scent the it knows the fly cant resist and when the big ol fly settles inside to drink his fill the trap closes on him so imperceptivly slowly that he deosnt notice its closed all around him until its too late!! incredible and a warning to us lesser mortals that if something appears to be too good to be true then careful it probably is and befoe we know it we're in the trap! Oh what we can learn from nature no??

Anyhow after that bit of wisdom my feew pics will be insignificant I susspect but here they are anyhow,

Re the fly. Reason apart from quick reaction is it has all round type eye sight so can't sneak up on it.

Hi there. Unfortunately I don't have seeds for those. But I had initially bought them from blackmoor nurseries. Hope that helps.

By the way thank you all for all your comments.

Katalina the pink one is a Cosmos, I have quite a nice variety of them this year and one variety that has grown over 6 feet tall. I never knew they could grow so high. I've had to stake them as they are falling over.

That Cosmos is very pretty indeed Nath

Although I like dainty alpine type plants I could live with the height.

I am pleased to report we have had 24 hours of REAL SPRING SHOWERS that just keep coming. It's squelchy wet and green and the plants, azaleas in particular, under the maples are looking just beautiful. They have been thread bare for so long I was begining to wonder if they would survive. These are old plants put in in the 1950's when the first owner had the property. Not sure what they are called but have the small compact flowers that are bright pink, paler pink and a rich purple. They look like jewels. It's not really cold about 16 C but its WET WET WET. Been about 12 yrs since the spring has been this damp

Nath I am still working on getting a camera. Funds are limited and a couple of times I get close a rego or rates turn up. If I can organize the kids with a mobile I will see what I can do. The wisteria is developing masses of flowers as well. Going to be a good year.

Me too - still waiting for mine to produce a flower or two - the vine is over 7 months old now!

    : O

I grew it from seed, so I wondered if this was the reason for the delay. Heard a lot of contradicting information so I just wait patiently - and hope for the day. I know nothing is wrong because the vine is absolutely thriving and beautiful. It knows what it's doing I suppose, but I want flowers NOW!!!

I am hoping to see some very soon...

You be sure to take pics once it does and enjoy the fruit if it is an edible variety.
