Datura (jimsonweed, locoweed). Quite toxic. Daturas are grown in gardens though for their lovely large, often fragrant flowers.

    Hey bob 2,

Loco weed is one of many common names for Datura, but maybe it is more common where I grew up. Loco weed seems to be applied as a name to many plants, those that poison livestock.

Also interesting that jimson weed is slur of the name Jamestown weed.

When I was a kid in Lethbridge and then Calgary my parents called it loco weed (maybe one word?) since it drives cattle loco when they eat it. I thought that was the name given to it across N America, or at least across the prairies - or at very least within the Palliser triangle (and it you don't know where that is, you must be from Toronto or else the Galapagos Islands).
