I would like to talk to any one that has experience with black cedar hedges , growing from cuttings and any one in ontario that has a mature black cedar hedge that i could see at some point and their opinions on comparison to just a white cedar hedge, i am located south of peterborough about 10 miles north of lake ontario, at this tme i can buy commericaly grown black cedars approx 30 inches when planted for about $6.50 each... Anybodys thoughts on that price , thanks... Neil

Although described as darker green the Thuja occidentalis 'Nigra' I have seen differed from typical most noticeably in having bluish foliage. If you want a narrow dense hedge you may wish to try the popular 'Smaragd' (Emerald) instead.

    The price seems low.
