I currently have a 5' banana leaf ficus tree and was looking for the best propagation method...

Seems it can be done from:

    woody stem cuttings
    softwood cuttings
    semi-hardwood cuttings
    hardwood cuttings

Not sure whether to stick in water, soil, etc... I do have root hormone ready...

    Thanks!!

I have found that Air layering or marcot is the best way to propagate all ficus You get good strong roots and a better shaped plant. Good luck.
