Planted a korean lilac 2 years ago, the first year it achieved some blooms but this year getting amazing foliage however not one bloom in sight. I am in Ontario, Canada if this makes a difference. We have had a relatively damp cooler spring to date and the weather is just starting to warm up now into the 20's. We did have a very harsh winter. Also getting much new growth around the base.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why it is not flowering?

did you prune it last year after it bloomed?? most lilac set the buds for the next year after the blooms from the current year are done with.

I will have to admit that we did not, there were not many blossoms and very small. Felt it was better to leave it alone.
