Hi, I'm based in the UK and have several palms in my garden however I've noticed that one of them has gone very brown and seems to be dying. Its not very tall only about a metre high so far. Only a month ago it was looking healthy and producing new shoots but even these have gone brown.

Can anyone suggest what I should do?

Is your soil too wet or dry? Are you out of range for them? Especially cold snap this winter? Any number of factors, and we'd all be glad to help. Would help to know what kind of palm, first, though, or a photo if you don't know. ;-)

What type of palm tree do you have? I have lots of palms growing in my garden in Nottinhgam quite happily. We havent had too much rainfall of late or any frosts for around a month so maybe something is attacking the roots. Without knowing the type of palm and where its situated in the garden its a bit difficult to help.
