Planted in 1998. This conifer is sold under the cultivar name 'Pendula' at most nursery's which is incorrect. Correct cultivar name is 'Reflexa'

    Fabulous display Dave !

I just received my two P.a. 'Inversa' from Darren at Whistling Gardens (Ontario) -- another one of those P.a. cultivars that often gets mis-labeled.

They are quite small, so its going to be a loooong time before they get anywhere near to the size of your 'Reflexa'.

But 'Inversa' supposedly grows more upright than 'Reflexa' -- somewhat like P.o. 'Pendula Bruns', only faster -- so presumably it should get to decent size fairly quickly, once it gets going.

I guess the question to ask is: if you stake 'Reflexa', does it grow up in height as fast as an 'Inversa' :O)

    Cheers,

    Jaro

Jaro..a comparison photo taken in 2001.

    About 5ft. (1.52m) in 2001

    Now 12ft. (3.66m) in Spring 2009.

    Thanks Dave,

A very satisfying result after 8 years, I'm sure!

My two Inversas made it OK through winter, so I'm looking forward to some significant progress this summer.

    Best,

    Jaro

    Dave,

I wonder where your Picea abies 'Weeping Blue' fits, relative to other weeping but upright cultivars like 'Inversa' ?

    Thanks.
