My apple tree seems to have something eating chunks if its bark. Is this a decease? or is it a racoon eating it? the tree is about 4 years old. Beside that tree, there is a cherry, a pear and a fig. None of the tree have been bothered by this issue.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Tony

Where is the damage? If at the base, then probably a rabbit. Is there any type of fencing around your yard or the tree? Can you post an image of the damage?

There's probably a better forum than Maples for this question, perhaps HortBoard, Garden Pest ID, or Fruit Trees.
