Does anyone know what this plant is and how to take care of it? the leaves are turning yellow and falling off.

Its an Alocasia I believe. Hard to tell from those photos but possibly Alocasia cucullata. I don't know what is going on with those leaves, maybe over watered? Does it sit in water at the bottom?

I think Ed's correct with the A. cucullata guess.

It's hard to tell w/the photo sideways...but it looks like (the first photo) it may have a spider mite infestation. Could just be my aging eyes, though:)

What's your watering regimen and what light exposure is it receiving?

    Thanks alot for your replies.

I've been watering it a couple times a week when the top of the soil seems dry, and it gets direct sunlight daily since i have it on the window sill.

How can i make sure its not infested? Should i water it more and give it less sunlight?

good drainage, and defused light. thats my advice. i have those horizonal blinds and i just leave them open a little in my south facing window. it looks like the same plant. did yours ever have flowers?
