Hello! I live in Plainfield, Indiana and planted some concord grape vines 3 years ago. I had an abundance of grapes last summer, and the vine growth was fair - compared to the year prior's growth. Last fall my husband cut back all the vines to maybe 10" of stick left, could this be why this year I have very long and bushy vines with NO grapes - not even one cluster?

    Thanks for your help.

    Re: concord grapes

when you say he cut the vines back to 10" of growth, did cut back just new growth or did he cut back into older wood, cutting back into older growth may have caused an excess of vegetative growth this season.....try to keep a main framework of old woody growth and cut back only the new growth to one or two healthy buds.
