I have a very healthy young Athena Melon Plant. It has trails about three feet long. The plant is in full sun, and is packed with flowers that are getting plenty of attention from bees. I feed it with Ironite every week, and rosetone once a month. My problem is that it just will not fertilize and produce fruit. The flowers open up full and remain open for long enough for multiple bees to visit it. They then fall off at the base of the recepticle and leave the petiole on the stem. Can anyone give me an idea of why this is happening, and possilbly a solution to cure this?

    Hi,

Just in case your flowers are not being sufficiently pollinated by the bees in your garden, it might be a good idea to try hand pollinating them with a q-tip or small artist's paintbrush.

Additionally, try to ensure that your plants needs are being met with adequate watering and ideal soil conditions.

    Thanks
