My parents have a huge grapefruit tree on their property. I can pick bag fulls of grapefruit and there are still plenty growing all over the tree.

The grapefruits are not "pretty" on the outside like you may find in a supermarket. They almost look dirty. They are yellow with a little bit of pink color. On the inside they look like what a grapehefruit is supposed to look like. They are pink, juicy and delicious! These gapefruits do not taste bitter to me. They are sweet and require no sugar.

I have two seeds I want to plant. Is it necessary to soak the seeds in water or do I just pot them? Also, what size pot should I start them in?

I am new to this so all helpful advice is greatly appreciated! :)

    Re: Grapefruit tree from seed

    Hello,

In my opinion it is not necessary to soak seeds before planting.

What matters is that seeds are reasonably fresh, so don't wait too long.

Concerning pot size, normally its good to start seedlings off in small pots and then re-pot them as they grow. I noramlly start them in 3 or 4 inch pots.
