We have these over here in S. Mississippi too. I'll call my cousin tomorrow, she knows what they are, she told me after Katrina as the 'fruit' were all over the place and I asked. I don't remember though. I'll get back later today and let you know.

    Hi,
I haven't forgotten about this plant, I've just not gotten in touch with my cousin yet.
My Aunt told me they went to the Bahamas for vacation, so I'm waiting their return.
    :-)
As soon as I can, I'll get back with you on this.
I might go collect some of the plants and approach someone local about them.
I WILL find out for you. :-)
It isn't in me to give up.
    you take care,
    God bless,
    Beth

    Hi,
    Sorry it took so long.
I finally remembered to ask, it has been on my mind for a long time. :-)
It is a Tung Oil Tree.
