All: I recently moved into a house a bit south of San Francisco, about 20 miles inland from the coast, and found some plants in the garden that I cannot identify. Please help! Pictures attached: Large evergreen tree with slender 2inch by 0.2 inch leaves Red flower, hibiscus-like, but leaves don't resemble the hibisci I know ... Red berries -- no thorns so not pyracantha Some fast-spreading tiny ground flowers A slender evergreen tree, doesn't seem to grow over 15 ft, trunk and leaf photos. Any help much appreciated! Hello, I think 2 is Podocarpus salignus, 3 is a Rhododendron of some sort (hundreds of cultivars!), 4 is Nandina domestica and 6 is some sort of wild Geranium I think (may possibly be called a Cranesbill). I'm spent. Sorry I'm not much help with the others.
5). Polygonum capitatum 6). A potentilla, maybe Potentilla tridentata. 8). An arabis. 12). Snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus).
The last is an antirrhinum which is also commonly known as a snapdragon because if you squeeze the sides of the flowers together they look like a dragon with an open mouth. Have never seen a dragon so I don't know if it does or not!!! Margaret

Not sure what the first tree (pics 1-2) is, but it isn't Podocarpus salignus - the mystery tree has opposite leaves, while the podocarp has alternate/spirally arranged leaves. Last tree (second-last pic) is a Pittosporum, probably Pittosporum tenuifolium.
Maybe I'm missing something, but #2 really looks like Cepillo (Callistemon viminalis) to me. #6 is definitely a strawberry.
