    Hi,

I bought this houseplant about 2 years ago (See links to the pictures below). Unfortunately I have no idea what it is called.

It seems to be a little unwell, (see browning leaves and strange dark brown growth on some of the veins) though it has been this way for at least 9 months.

Can anyone identify my plant? Also, can anyone point out what is wrong with it and how I can rectify the problem?

Looks like Asplenium nidus, Bird's Nest Fern. Could the condition be the result of too much exposure to sun and/or low humidity?

Absolutely, a google search confirmed that you are correct. My plant is an Asplenium nidus. I just checked for some care instructions and it seems I should not have placed it on the windowsill.

    I'll move it somewhere shady.

i have asplenium too, i've got it recently
mine is in a very ligh shade, but getting enough light, and its saucer is put on the another saucer filled with water.
I mist it with water every few days. It is growing nicely :)
