Can anyone identify the Palm in the pictures below? It is located at our beach house in Surfside beach, SC (below Myrtle Beach). Can we grow some more using the seeds that are falling from it?

    Thanks

    I'd guess Butia capitata.

I agree, Butia capitata (Pindo palm). The pulp must be thoroughly cleaned from the seed before attempting to germinate them. The seeds may take from several weeks to as much as 6 months to sprout in a moist warm environment. Any spare seeds you can send my way? Mine hasn't flowered and set seed yet :(

    Cheers, LPN.

Give it time and squirrel-dispersed seeds will provide you and your neighbors with seedlings, provided your cool winters aren't a problem. They do the squirrel thing at least as far north as Jacksonville, Florida.

I would like to have a seed you are growing. And information on continuing to grow it.
    I live in Phoenix Arizona.

How much are you charging for this plant. I will mail you the money for this plant.
