Any of you guys out there in cyberland ever grown this shrub/plant from seed? If so, what tips and tricks are required to get it to germinate and keep it alive? All replies accepted with gratitude! best regards, Ken.
My Exochorda selfseeds i.e. the seeds germinate in spring around the motherplant (correct English?). I have potted some on in containers and repotted them this spring but they haven't flowered yet. The seedlings are now appr. 4 years old. I'm not sure if the seed of Exochorda needs a cold period (stratification) before germination. But a lot of hardy woody ornamentals need a cold period before germination so I suggest you sow the seeds now and place them outside so the winterweather can do its work. Succes!
Hi G/P, Thanks for the info, I'll take your advice and pot them up this week and leave them o/side. If you have any other advice, please let me know AS.A.P! Many thanks, Ken.
