I live in Southeastern Michigan, about 12 miles south of Detroit. In October of this year I moved a Trumpet Lilly plant from the front of house to the rear of the house. The Lilly is now in full bloom, five flowers and one more about to open. I have never seen this type of flower bloom in late fall. Is this unusual?

Yes it is very unusual for a trumpet lily to be blooming this late although they will sometimes bloom later than usual with a late planting. I have seen species wallichiana as late as early October.
