Pompous Grass

    While I was eating at Red Lobster I noticed something that I have seen growing on sand dunes at the beach, it looked like Pompous grass what was it? Thanks Bill

    Feather Reed Grass

    In answer to my own question I now believe it to be Feather Reed Grass.

    If you got to look it up, spell it pampas, as in the pampas (grasslands) of Argentina.

    i have to admit, although i never thought of it before, "pompous" is probably a more appropriate spelling for this plant.

    It's coming up wild in disturbed areas around here, something that may have been made possible by comparative mildness of recent winters.
