ID Please

    Even though the heart-shaped leaves aren't visible -- this LOOKs like a European version of frogbit -- I know its native range includes Asia, and I believe it is one of those plants that, given the chance, will cover shallow ponds, marshes, etc. It is viewed here as a noxious weed. Hydrocharis morsus-ranae. Of course, I could be wrong. It has distinct leaves, which I can't see here.

    Another picture which does show some leaves is attached but they don't seem to be heart-shaped.

    Could be a Stratiotes aloides...

    It could be Stratiotes aloides, because the plant seems, kind of, ready to sink for the coming winter. But I am still not sure. Some more help would be welcome.

    But now I have a better tip, if you are still interested: OTTELIA sp.!!! Hm? :)
