Unusual growth on wild blackberry

    Noticed this on a wild blackberry plant in Pacific Spirit Park today. Can anybody tell me what this unusual (to me) growth is?

    Looks like Clematis seedheads to me.

    Thanks for ID - went back for another look and it is a clematis intertwined with the blackberry. Should have looked at it from farther away
