oak tree ID #2

    this one is a multistem with 4 large trunks growing at slight angles, largest trunk about 12-16 inches in diameter, bark is uniform brownish gray, about 40-50 feet tall, buds seem much larger on other tree. any Oak experts here?

    A close-up photo of the underside of a leaf would help a lot (and include a 15cm ruler for scale), as would location.

    here's underside of this leaf, again location is amarillo tx. bud length seems to be 2.5 mm, bud length on other tree is 5-6 mm.

    is this a Texas red oak (q. buckleyi)? do they get that big?
