Hi everyone, happy to have just joined the forum.

I’m writing because we just moved into a home where there are two huge mounds of wisteria in the front yard (I’m not sure what kind — maybe Chinese?). They used to grow way up into the maple tree in our front yard, and had blooms that made our house famous. The vines were cut down to the ground about 4 years ago, and haven’t flowered since.

Searching online suggests it could be too much nitrogen, but to my knowledge they haven’t been fertilized. They get full sun.

Any tips are appreciated. I’d love to smell these legendary blossoms!

They need to be treated with a very generous dose of a product called 'time', probably about 10 or 20 years' worth. When they've had that, the regrowth will be mature enough to start flowering well again.

Thanks Michael. I had assumed that the mature roots would speed that process up, but I guess I have more waiting to do!
