White mystery flower

    Does anybody recognize this? Its white flower was blooming first thing in the morning and then retreated to this state. There are several stems each about two feet high with their flowers soon to bloom. Thanks.

    Possibly Silene latifolia.
    A pic showing a perfect flower would be helpful...that one looks wilted.

    Hmm, I can tell why you are suggesting that based on the Mentzelia I've seen, but this is definitely a Caryophyllaceae (opposite leaves), and a Silene (the out of focus striped part is the inflated calyx)
