We had to cut down a 3 year old peach: planted along back fence facing S/W as it was blackened near the base and had some oozing and cracked and peeling bark. Unfortunately my partner did not save the name of this tree. Do I need to remove the soil and dispose of it also to ensure nothing spreads?

    Thanks

sorry was off of this site for a while: it was cut a few days before my posting: I have removed all wood and have planted two locally approved red raspberry plants...so... fingers crossed. I am suspecting that the same disease (? not sure what) that killed my 40 ish old cherry tree may have moved on to the new peach)
Fruit trees have turned out to be more work than I have expected.
