What is this tree?

    Being a total gardening idiot I have great difficulty identifying plants! Last year forum members helped me identify a lot of the plants at my new home - but I don't remember seeing this particular tree laden with fruit (?) then. Can you tell me what it is - the tree is very big and covered with these green things about the size of a Kiwi.

    Yep, Persian Walnut Juglans regia. The nuts will be ripe for harvesting in around late September (if you can keep the squirrels off them!!).
