I have a Japanese Maple tree that is about three or four years old. It was very small when I bought it, probably grown from a cutting. It is now only about 14 ins. tall. I have had it in a fairly shady area but now I think the space has got too shady and it's not developed any new leaves this year. I would like to move it where it gets more dappled shade. When is the best time to move it? I would really like to move it as soon as possible as I don't think it is growing where it is and I would hate it to die as I have previously lost one and don't want to lose this one. I live in Southern Ontario, right on the lake, zone 5-6.
Do you mean it has not developed any leaves at all this year? If so, it must surely be dead, unfortunately.
Glad to hear that! Apologies for my earlier pessimism, I guess I misinterpreted your meaning from the original post.
