Tetrapanax 'rex' probelms see pics!!

    i recently bought this through ebay, the roots wernt that brilliant and i think it might have had too much rainfull when i planted it out, not sure, anyway ive decided to dig it back up and potted it up and put it in shade as maybe too much sun drying it out?? any ideas whats happening to it??? help please dont wanna lose this

    Should be able to handle all the sunshine you can muster in Kent... Watch the soil closely so it's well-watered but not drown.

    i stupidly repotted it as thought was drowning..

    All the planting and re-potting isn't gonna help. It needs a period to re-adjust so you'll likley lose a few leaves. Quite vigorous once established.

    It's in shock from shipping and moving, I would strip the leaves and agree with LPN.

    it has one leaf left now, but no new shoots have appeared and hasnt grown an inch in like 3 weeks, do u think its not going make it?? thought these were vigerious?? plz help. its potted up , i keep it damp and in my conservatory/semi shade. any advice plzz

    Semi-shade may be the problem with it. I grow mine in full sun in Houston, TX, where I'd wager it's a fair bit sunnier than Kent. ;-) If it's not in enough su n to need so much water, you may be over-doing it.

    ok with all my patience is has pulled through, still very slow growth and two leaves are nearly going to open out.. i heard they love water so how often should i be watering?? as it is still a young plant..??

    Soil should be routinely moist, but not soggy. General purpose fertilizer every few weeks is a benefit as well.
    I thought I'd post a pic of mine to show you the speed at which these will grow. All of what's pictured here has grown this season. Overall height, 4 1/2' and leaves are 2' wide.

    wow urs is doing awsome, hope mine does the same... ill kepp it a bit more moist as quite dry now.

    it seems to be so slow to open up these new shoots?? any ideas i thought these grew like weeds.... i have fert a little too..?
