Ok, here's the problem. We ordered strawberry plants that get the gaint strawberries like you find in the store. This year, they had loads of flowers which turned into berries but, when the berries started to get time to be picked, they would start to rot before we could eat them. What is causing this? Is it some kind of mineral deficency or a disease they picked up from somewhere?

I would suspect botrytis which has symptons as you describe. A local FARM supply can probably discuss sprays safe for reducing the problem.

Yes, that does sound like what it is. I'll check at another place that I know of just to make sure.
