St. Helena ebony (Trochetiopsis ebenus) is critically endangered in the wild. A related species, the dwarf ebony (Trochetiopsis melanoxylon) with which is often confused, is now completely extinct. Trochetiopsis melanoxylon has been recorded last time by Banks in 1771.

Krystyna, was this photograph taken in the wild or one of the UK botanical gardens?
