root/limb pictures, specific name?

    Is there a scientific, specific name for a botanical picture where the limbs as well as the roots are shown, please help? Thank you!

    What you describe does not have a specific English name, scientific or otherwise (at least that I can find), though I wouldn't be surprized if there was such a term in German or Russian.

    Herbarium specimens (dried, pressed plants) often show both above- and below-ground parts, as well as flowers and fruits; however, roots are normally only displayed with herbaceous plants.

    Sometimes, fine botanical illustrations show all of these things, but a "botanical illustration" does not have to include any particular combination of plant parts to be regarded as such.
