NOID Rhododendron, if anyone has an idea about the name of this hybrid it will be deeply appreciated. Individual flowers are approximately 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter. I have to trim it every year after flowering, because my husband always complains that it is getting too big. It was there when we bought the house, and I don’t have the willpower to get rid of it. It always puts on a show for a couple of weeks in late spring.
Good afternoon @Nik, my wife and I have gone through our books and think it maybe Rhodedenron ferrugineum. It's the closest we can see that has similar colouring, it does say the older under leaves has rust brown spots. As we cannot see yours from your photo, you would need to verify. D
