Sole survivor of 150 that germinated. Tried substituting latitude for altitude. Glad I kept this one inside.

A complete non-starter in Yukon! Zone 8, very marginal in zone 7.

11 degrees last night, mid 20's in the daytime. So I've moved it outside for a while. Seemed to be good for it last summer. I had kinda hoped that at 2,000 to 3,000 metres the climate in zone 7 might be harsh enough for it to survive at 61 degrees latitude. Oh well. Its a lesson that wasn't too costly, and its a pretty nice house plant.

Trouble is, its being at 2,000-3,000 m brings it into zone 8; down on the Terai at 200 m altitude, you're in zone 11 ;-)
