The European species of mistletoe is not found in BC; rather 4 different dwarf species. Here's a good article from CBC: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/dwarf-mistletoe-bc-forests-1.5397762 with lots of interesting information including how it disperses its seeds 'like a water cannon'. I don't know if European mistletoe could become established in BC but I remember fresh leafy mistletoe being sold before Christmas in the 1960s in the produce department of Woodward's Dep't. Store where I worked. Perhaps it was a leafy type that grows in the States. If not necessarily poisonous, it's certainly not considered edible - I wonder how many shoppers may have added it to a salad?
