Nelumbo nucifera vs Nymphaea nouchali

Dear all,

I have a very specific question about the stems of the above mentioned water flowers, also known as indian lotus and water lily :) .

is the structure of those 2 flowers' stems the same respectively are the threads in the stems of same consistency/texture?

They are quite different. The seed pods of Nelumbo are distinctive (easy to find photos) and are popular for dried flower arrangements. Nymphaea, not so much. The stems holding up the flowers or seed heads will have nearly the same anatomical/morphological structure, since both are members of the same family, Nymphaeaceae.
