My monkey puzzle tree has lower branches which touch the grass. Tree is very healthy & I'm afraid to prune it. Do I wait until temperature freezing?

Very nice to have one branched to the ground, it isn't common. Keep it that way as long as you can, don't prune off any live branches - only remove the lower branches as they die off naturally.

Nice specimen! A good crop of cones on it, too.

Thank you for your knowledge. I will never prune her. I found you just in the nick of time! Someone had advised pruning to avoid disease off ground. It seemed wrong, now I'm certain its unnecessary. I appreciate your sense.
