It's not the best time of year to be looking for dried leaves, but I'm wanting to build a lasagna garden and so need to source the necessary materials for it.

Does anyone have any ideas of where I can locate leaf mulch, peat moss or similar "brown" materials at no or little cost in the Vancouver area? I'd rather not use peat, given the environmental damage associated with it.

    Thanks!

You can get a trailer / pickup truck load of compost from the landfill (from the lawn clippings bags) for $10. I used it to build up my bed, and it worked fantastically well for a good price.

You need to go there to get it, have your own truck or trailer, etc.
