    Hello,
I have a Trachycarpus fortunei in a pot on my patio. I grew it from seed and it is now about 6 years old. However, it is still only about 18inches in height. Are they always this slow growing?

Are you feeding it at all? I think that one of the factors that can lead to little growth in a palm is no winter protection when they are smaller. They start to get behind. Try feeding it a palm boost food.

Trachys can be pretty inexpensive, and will grow vigorously once established, so concur about fertilizer and possibly some more pot room.
