I live in North Georgia. I purchased a plant identified as a hibiscus. It is very different from the hibiscus we had in Central Florida. Several long skinny stems grow from the ground. There are 4 petals on each flower and they are bright red. Now I have seed pods and they are brown and look dead, but I noticed little brown seeds in them. Can seeds be planted in indoor pots for winter to grow plants for spring? Thanks in advance for any help.

    Good question Twisted,

    Welcome to Botanical Garden Forums.

I tried to 'fool nature' last year with Calendula flower seeds, but they were not having any of it. Sown in april and all was fine, just not febuary.

If you have an heated seed tray with cover you may just get away with it. You would also need a sunny window sill after planting into pots. I always use the little gro pots made of compost..Jiffy Pots which you water and they grow from a pellet.

    Good luck!
