Same here on Saturday, mixed light rain and snow yesterday.

Some light rain, temps between +1°C at night and +9°C during the day for the coming week...

Thanks! I think I found a suitable profile photo, but it doesn't belong to those I already posted, tomorrow you'll see ;)

Nice way to end 2021 Autumn colour and Shiraz as your profile photo is a very good choice Lorenzo.

There are still a few leaves hanging on here, though most have been blown off in the gales. But since I haven't managed to post on the thread for a while, I thought I'd go back and add some that didn't make it before. The first of these are now about a month old.

Here are: (1st and last of this group), A. palmatum, the Eucalyptus is now hanging down long strips of bark from the winds, a little 'Aoyagi', A. pauciflorum x2, always very colorful; A palmatum dwarf form, quite an old tree; A. palmatum selection, A. palmatum variegated selection with a Norway maple in back, and A. rubescens 'Wakisaka nishiki' in foreground.

Next, Acer aff. paxii, (what some call A. discolor, though I'm now convinced this isn't correct), mostly all yellow this year.

    A. x conspicuum 'Silver Cardinal', like many of these next froze and so leafed out a second time, very late. Also a strange small plant, from Crete, perhaps A. sempervirens or maybe even A. hyrcanum ssp reginae-amaliae, which according to Flora of Greece is present on some of the islands (Crete isn't mentioned though). Also, for anyone who bothered to see "The Last Duel", the actual Palais de Justice in Argentan, where much of the action actually took place back then.

A couple of pictures of 'Eddisbury' which I took for @Romain01 but then forgot about

Last leaves holding on to A. buergerianum v. integrifolium (a disputed name) 'Nokoribo', and A. pectinatum 'Alice'. These are still there now, this trident is semi-evergreen.

Pictures of Acer paxii, not really evergreen here but will hold leaves until a very hard freeze, to compare with A. aff. paxii.

Now, out to dig up a suffering poplar, P. glauca v. jacquemontii. I have a hope it may still be alive, though not at all sure. -E

In the summer, all the leaves on my 'Arakawa' dried up, I thought it was a goner. But new leaves grew, and they lasted much longer than on my other palmatums. Today, it still has some on, a few with a hint of green :

And Acer laevigatum is still green, it's "semi-deciduous" but I haven't protected it from the frost yet...
