I was given a beautiful azalea in full flower a couple of months ago and the flowers are just starting to fade now. There is a lot of new green growth and since I have NO idea how to take care of this plant can somebody please tell me:

Do I just deadhead the flowers or am I supposed to prune the branches at the same time? If not, when and how do I prune. When should I repot and what is the best way to overwinter it? When should it be fertilized and is it acid loving?

    Many thanks in advance.

Deadhead for now. Prefers bright, cool and humid conditions. Some used as florist pot crops may be hardy enough to grow outside near salt water here, others are not.

If successful with it you could prune right after main flush of bloom each year (some warm climate types have a some flowers more than once per year) to control size, should that be desired later.
