Hi, My ZZ has a few stems coming out from the soil of old branches that fell off. The tops dryed out, should I remove them or what should I do?
No new growth will come from the broken petioles so they can be cut back to the soil line. The yellowish petioles suggest the plant is struggling. Detailed information for this plant: Care and history of Zamioculcas zamiifolia, ZZ, Zamioculcas, ZZ Plant poisonous, Zee Zee plant, ZeZe plant, incorrectly Zamioculcus,Zamioculcas zamiifolia (Loddiges)Engl., zamioculcas plant, Arum fern, Chinese New Year Festive Plant, Aroid Palm, Zu Zu, Zamioculcas loddigesii.
Hi, the plant was left for one month with little watering and it suffered from that. Possibly explaining the dry petiols? (does cut of branches from the growd?) should I cut this branches to soil level?
The plant will go dormant if you allow the soil to go dry for too long. The referenced article explains the process and much more. (The site appears to be offline at the moment but you can access a cached version from a search engine like Google or Bing.) I would cut the broken ones back to soil level.
