Hi there - last spring (2007) we planted a monkey puzzle tree for my son. It's planted in full sun in an area where the ground was somewhat compacted before we planted it (but we were able to dig a hole fairly easily). It started off as a brilliant green but is now mostly brown with just the tips of the branches green. Is it dying? Is there anything we can do to save it? Apart from the fact that I love the tree, it's rather ominous to have my son's tree die! We would like to save it if possible.

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Susan

Doesn't sound good. Compacted soil isn't what they like at all, they need good drainage.

    Can you post a photo?

    Hey Sleech,

Can we assume you are in BC? These trees only survive in a small part of Canada.
