The traditional walk following my dance group's Spring Equinox Ball was this year along the Nicomekl River just west of King George Highway. Just east of where the path comes out to Crescent Road is the Nico Wynd Golf Course and what I assume are condominiums. You can see a few of these trees from the path along the west side of the course. At the main entrance are around five big old trees, and a few younger ones. Farther east in the complex are another group of six or eight trees, and then there are a few more here and there around the complex. It's very lovely.



Visible from the turn into the Starbucks off King George Hwy, at the corner where 33rd Ave becomes a circle, is a single 'Tai-haku' in bloom. Actually, the flowers are just opening, so I didn't recognize it until I saw the dark leaves in the photo (though I should have realized what it was from the size of the flowers and petals).


This flower is 6.5cm across, has six petals and seven sepals.
