we have had some trouble with this guy. got caught in the cold spell in Nov/ Dec. pruned it back and had lots of new growth in the spring inside. we had it out in the sun and wind for the last two weekends but bring it in at night. we cant send a pic as the file is too large with our camera but looks like the plant is sunburnt. could this be the case?
Tibouchina: Sunburn? Assuming your plant is the purple flowered T. urvilleana, it sounds like the leaves may have been exposed to the elements too suddenly. It is native to the rainforest in central and south america where other shrubs provide warmth and shelter. It prefers slightly acid fast draining soil, and best to keep in partial shade and a warm sheltered location when first moved outdoors until it is climatized. Provide shelter from strong winds.
