This is how we grow mint in our household, for fear that if it is planted outside, it will spread out uncontrollably. It is the only plant that my husband is taking care of, because he uses the mint for cocktails all the time. It takes a good “shave” to soil level every two weeks or so. I hate admitting it, but he is actually doing a great job with it.

He is taking care of it well. Don't think I've ever seen mint under growing lights in the home before.
We keep ours in a pot for the same reason, it is so very invasive.

    Nice! Is it really spearmint?
We have a couple types of mint in our yard: regular and Orange mint (has a nice citrusy scent.)

Also, I was browsing the nursery the other day and came across a few others: Apple, Pineapple, Chocolate, and Mojito mint. (Mojito mint is a bit spicier than spearmint and good for mixing in drinks.)
